Garage is the online marketplace where buyers and sellers of used equipment and apparatus come together. Think of us as the connector — we're not buying or selling anything ourselves, just making it easy for the right people to find each other!
Who can sell on Garage?
Anyone! As long as you're the owner of the item or authorized to sell it, you're good to go. Getting started is easy — so what are you waiting for?
Who can buy on Garage?
Anyone! However, keep in mind that some apparatus owned by a municipality or department may have restrictions on who they can sell to — typically limiting sales to other departments only.
Not sure if a listing has any restrictions? Just message the seller and ask — it never hurts!
How can I contact the seller?
Getting in touch with a seller is easy! On the listing page, just click the orange "Message Seller" button to start a direct chat and ask any questions you may have.
You can also request a virtual inspection to connect with the seller via video call — a great way to get a closer look at the item before committing!
Prefer a phone call? For privacy reasons, we're unable to share seller contact information directly, but reach out to our team, and we'll check with the seller on your behalf!
I'm interested — should I make an offer?
We encourage all buyers to do their due diligence before committing to a purchase. Take advantage of the tools available to you — ask the seller questions, book an inspection, and make sure the item is the right fit!
When you're ready to move forward, here are a few ways to secure an apparatus:
Letter of Intent (LOI): Reach out to our team and we can help put together a Letter of Intent. This confirms your commitment to buy while still allowing you to add contingencies — like pending board approval or a successful inspection.
Non-refundable deposit: You can also hold an apparatus by placing a non-refundable deposit, giving you peace of mind that it's yours while you finalize the details.

How should I price my apparatus?

Remember, the appraisal is just a guide — you're always in control of your final listing price!
I've accepted an offer — now what?
Congrats on your sale! Here's what happens next: Once an offer is accepted, Garage will send you a confirmation email and the buyer will be invoiced. Our operations team will also reach out to confirm the buyer's commitment and help coordinate pickup or delivery.
In the meantime, make sure your seller account is set up to receive payment — we'll walk you through everything and keep you informed at every step along the way!
How does freight work?
Once your listing and freight costs are paid, Garage gives the carrier the green light to get things moving! From there, the carrier will coordinate a pickup date and time directly with the seller. Once that's confirmed, the buyer will be notified with an approximate delivery ETA, so you know when to expect your item.
Just keep in mind that while carriers always do their best to arrive on time, things like weather, traffic, and road conditions can sometimes impact delivery dates. The ETA is always an estimate — we appreciate your patience and understanding!
How are payments protected?
At Garage, both buyers and sellers are protected every step of the way!
Buyers pay through our secure payment platform, and funds are held safely until the item has been received, so you never have to worry about paying for something you haven't gotten yet.
On the seller side, a secure escrow account is created to hold the funds until the buyer receives their order. Once that's confirmed, the payout is released directly to your bank account.
It's a safe, transparent process designed to give everyone peace of mind!
How can I pay for an invoice?
Paying your invoice is simple! Just click on the invoice link and choose your preferred payment method — we accept both wire transfer and ACH payments.
Here's what to keep in mind on processing times:
Wire transfer: typically processes within 1 business day
ACH: can take up to 4 business days to process

What am I responsible for as a seller — Apparatus?
When listing apparatus, make sure your listing includes all the relevant details buyers need — things like specifications, condition, and key features. You'll also want to have the title ready before your listing goes live.
Once your apparatus sells, Garage will reach out to help coordinate pickup or freight and will provide a Bill of Sale. Make sure your seller account is set up to receive payment and that you're ready to coordinate the title transfer with the buyer. Your payout will be processed once the buyer has received the apparatus!
What am I responsible for as a seller — Equipment?
When listing equipment, make sure your listing includes all the relevant details buyers need — things like specifications, condition, and key features. The more info you provide, the better!
Once your item sells, we'll send you a shipping label. Just package everything up securely and drop it off at your nearest shipping location. Your payout will be processed once the buyer has received the item!
