How an apparatus purchase works

What buyers and sellers do after an apparatus offer is accepted.

Offer accepted? You'll get updates from [email protected] along the way, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Step by step

Six steps of an apparatus purchase: offer accepted, invoice paid, Bill of Sale signed, pickup or delivery, title sent, seller paid
  1. Offer accepted. Submit a deposit or letter of intent to confirm your commitment and move forward. See Making an offer.

  2. Buyer pays the invoice by ACH, wire, check or card. See Paying your invoice.

  3. Both sides sign the Bill of Sale. Double-check the details, since buyers often need it to register the vehicle.

  4. The vehicle is picked up or delivered. See your options below.

  5. Seller sends the title. See Transferring a vehicle title.

  6. Seller gets paid within 1 business day after the buyer has the vehicle and title.

Pickup and delivery options

The buyer chooses how the vehicle gets delivered. Here's how each option works:

  • Garage Freight: we'll book a carrier once payment clears. The seller loads the vehicle, and the buyer unloads it when it arrives.

  • Pick up: once payment is complete and the Bill of Sale is signed, we'll introduce the buyer to the seller to coordinate pickup.

  • External carrier: once payment is complete and the Bill of Sale is signed, we'll connect the external carrier with the seller to schedule pickup.

Sellers: set up your payout account

Set it up when your listing goes live, so you're ready to be paid. See [Setting up your seller payout account].
