“Buy Now” listings
How it works: You set a fixed asking price. Buyers can either purchase at that price or submit offers.
Who pays what: When a sale is completed, the seller pays a success fee based on the final sale price.
Best for: Sellers who want a clear price and more predictability, with the ability to negotiate offers.
Auction listings
How it works: Buyers place bids over a set auction period. You can choose to set a reserve price (the minimum you’re willing to accept).
Who pays what: For auction sales, the seller does not pay a success fee. Instead, the buyer pays a 10% buyer’s premium on top of the final winning bid.
If the reserve isn’t met or the auction ends without a sale:
If your apparatus was listed as an auction and a sale later happens as a result of that auction (for example, to a bidder who participated in it), the transaction is still treated as an auction sale.
That means the applicable fee remains the auction buyer’s premium structure, rather than a Buy Now success fee.
Best for: Sellers who want to create urgency and competition among buyers, or who are comfortable letting the market set the price within a defined timeframe.
