We want sellers to feel confident when listing and shipping through Garage.

This guide walks through your responsibilities as a seller, how Garage supports you, and how our protections work.

🤝 Sell with confidence

If you ship your item on time and as described, you’ll get paid. Garage’s systems are designed to make selling secure and fair for both sides.

📦 Shipping protection for equipment

When you use a Garage prepaid shipping label, your item is automatically covered for up to $100 in shipping protection.

You’re protected if:

  • Your package is lost in transit.

  • The buyer files a return because the item was damaged in transit.

How it works:

  • No need to file with the carrier. Garage reviews claims directly.

  • Claims can take up to 8 weeks to process. Once approved, reimbursement is issued within 5 business days.

  • Packages must be scanned by the carrier within 3 business days of sale.

  • Damage claims must be filed within 24 hours of the carrier’s delivery timestamp.

Exclusions:

  • Improper or unsafe packaging by the seller.

  • Prohibited items (per Garage or carrier rules).

  • Shipping labels that are altered or incorrect.

  • Claims submitted outside of filing windows.

🚨 Note: Items are only protected while in transit from seller to buyer. If tracking shows “delivered,” Garage investigates with the carrier but coverage is limited.

↩️ How returns work

Orders cannot be canceled or returned without seller consent unless:

  • The item wasn’t as described.

  • The item violates Garage’s Terms of Service.

  • The package did not receive a first carrier scan within 30 days of purchase.

Garage does not accept returns if:

  • The buyer marks the order “received” and funds are released.

  • The buyer was approved for a return but didn’t send the item back within 15 days.

  • The buyer didn’t contact Garage within the return timeframe.

🚩 Issues with returned items

If you receive a returned item in a different condition than you shipped it:

  • Contact us within 24 hours of confirmed delivery with clear photo evidence.

  • We also collect photos from buyers for every return to help verify.

If you never receive your item back or if the buyer returns the wrong item:

  • Email [email protected] immediately.

  • Garage will investigate and reimburse eligible sellers.

🛡️ How to Stay Protected

To qualify for Garage Seller Protection:

  • Only list permitted items (see Terms of Service & Prohibited Items list).

  • Provide accurate, complete descriptions and photos (including any imperfections).

  • Use your own photos—no stock images.

  • Ship on time with Garage prepaid labels.

  • Package items securely and select the correct weight class.

Pro tip: If reusing a box, remove any hazardous material labels before shipping.
