Who handles the title transfer?
Title transfers are always handled directly between the buyer and the seller. Garage does not play a role in this step, which is why it’s important to make sure you and your buyer are aligned before finalizing a sale.
What sellers should know:
Before listing your vehicle, make sure you have the title in your name or entity. Buyers may ask for confirmation or a copy before they purchase.
Once the purchase is confirmed, you and the buyer need to agree on how the title will be transferred.
Common title transfer options:
In the vehicle – You can place the signed title in the glove compartment. The buyer will receive it when the vehicle is delivered.
By mail – You can mail the title directly to the buyer’s address after the sale is complete.
👉 Tip: Be proactive and confirm the transfer method with the buyer so there are no delays once the vehicle is delivered.
