Overview of the process
π Requesting a Virtual Inspection
When a buyer clicks the "Virtual Walk Around" button on a listing, a calendar invite request is sent to the seller. This does not mean the inspection is confirmed β it simply means the seller has been invited and still needs to respond.
β Seller Response
Once the seller receives the invite, they can accept, decline, or request to reschedule.
Accepted: The calendar invite will be updated from "pending" to "confirmed," and both parties will be notified.
Reschedule needed: A member of the Garage team will step in to help coordinate a new date and time that works for both the buyer and seller.
Cancelled: If the seller cancels, it's usually because the listing is no longer available. Garage will reach out to let you know.
π Reminders Once confirmed, you'll receive reminder emails and texts with the link to join β 1 day before and 1 hour before the scheduled start time. Keep an eye on your inbox!
π± Before the Inspection β Check Your Settings!
Before the virtual inspection starts, make sure your device's camera, microphone, and audio are working properly. Every device is different, and it's much easier to troubleshoot before the call than during it!
Not the most tech-savvy? No problem β just make sure someone is with you to help you check your settings ahead of time so you can connect, see, hear, and speak without any issues.
βοΈ Garage will do its best to help if something comes up, but keep in mind that we don't have access to your device, so troubleshooting remotely can be tricky!
π€ During the Virtual Inspection
Buyer: This is your chance to ask the seller directly about the item's condition, specifications, included equipment, pickup timing, and anything else you need to make your decision!
Seller: Be prepared to walk the buyer through the item and answer any questions about the listing.
Garage: A Garage team member will be present to answer any questions about the purchase process and how our marketplace works. We're here to facilitate β if both parties are ready to move forward, we'll help make it happen!
