How an equipment purchase works

What buyers and sellers should know about an equipment purchase.

Equipment sales move quickly, and we'll keep both sides updated by email along the way.

Step by step

  1. Buyer checks out and pays for the item and shipping.

  2. Seller gets a prepaid shipping label by email. It includes up to $100 of shipping protection.

  3. Seller ships within 3 business days. Pack it securely and drop it off. See Shipping equipment.

  4. Item is delivered. The buyer has 3 business days to let us know about any problems. See Buyer Protection.

  5. Seller gets paid within 3 business days after delivery.

Shipping large items

Items on a pallet or crate ship by freight truck. Here's what to expect:

  • Sellers: secure the item to a pallet or crate. The seller handles loading, so let us know ahead of time if you'll need a forklift.

  • Buyers: lift gate service is included, and the buyer handles unloading. If the item won't fit on a lift gate, let us know right away.

  • Timing: freight trucks carry several loads, so delivery can take a little longer. Tell us early if the order is time-sensitive.

Pick up

Prefer to pick it up? Message the seller before you buy. If they agree, let us know, and we'll connect you once payment clears.

Buyers: before you check out

  • Read the full description and look through every photo.

  • Buying from a listing with several items? Make sure you've picked the right ones at the right price.

  • Need it by a certain date? Message the seller first, since items ship straight from them.
